Like the rest of the world, the impact of Coronavirus has begun to be felt in sub-Saharan Africa. Whilst the total confirmed cases is still small in Mozambique the number is growing and a variety of lockdown measures are now in place.
As part of our efforts to slow and stop transmission, alongside La Caixa Foundation, we are working with Juntos! – a learning and knowledge platform for civil society organisations in Mozambique – to ensure the country’s leading CSOs have access to and can disseminate essential communications materials produced by the Government and the World Health Organisation.
Our aim: to ensure the most vulnerable in society have access to information that can reduce the spread of Coronavirus, limit the strain on key health services, and save lives.
The initiative aims to collect all approved Coronavirus related materials, and make them accessible via Juntos!’s online learning and knowledge platform www.juntosmocambique.org.
This will allow Juntos! with other partners to understand what health and support materials may be missing and therefore what needs to be produced to fill the gap. Juntos! and its partners will then work to fill this and ensure these materials are accessible to the most vulnerable in society so that they have the knowledge to support themselves and their communities during this crisis.
