Julia Vera
As a Partnerships Officer for the Aga Khan Foundation, Julia is involved in managing grants, securing new funding opportunities, and monitoring project implementation. Her areas of focus are on Agriculture & Food Security, Early Childhood Development, East Africa, and Madagascar. She has been part of the team since September 2021.
Prior to joining AKF, Julia worked at the International Atomic Energy Agency in the area of nuclear medicine, helping developing countries acquire the technology and human capital to improve their capacity to diagnose and treat chronic diseases. She brings experience in grants management, budgeting, project coordination and reporting.
She is half Venezuelan and Canadian, and holds a BA in Political Science with a double specialisation in Law and Human Rights from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, and a MSc in International Development from the University of Birmingham, UK.
