As part of our outreach to local communities near the Aga Khan Centre, the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) was proud to host Accelerate for the second year running on 2 November.
Accelerate is a pioneering education and mentoring programme aimed at increasing diversity in the architecture profession, which was developed and established in 2012 by Open City, in partnership with The Bartlett School of Architecture.
Accelerate is for academically-able, and ambitious Year 12 and 13 students, who are interested in learning more about a career in architecture or subjects linked to the built environment. It aims to give students the confidence and skills needed to make strong university applications to study architecture and subjects linked to the built environment.
AKF (UK) were delighted to host Accelerate at the Aga Khan Centre where students could explore the Islamic gardens, courtyards and terraces, learn mapping techniques and consider the relationship between indoor and outdoor space.
We look forward to working with Accelerate in the future and continuing to contribute to this worthwhile education programme.
