Nicholas McGrath
Deputy Director – Europe & Asia (Partnerships)
Nicholas oversees the submission of high-quality proposals and supports donor cultivation efforts to establish and maintain effective partnerships with a variety of institutional and corporate donors. He works with agencies across AKDN to identify and pursue new funding opportunities and also manages AKF (UK)’s strategic grants.
Nicholas joined the UK office in 2011, later spending two years with AKF Afghanistan’s Kabul office where he provided oversight of grants management, external relations and resource mobilisation to the Human and Institution Development (HID) programme. Nicholas holds an MA in Japanese Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and a BA in Psychology from Sussex University.
